UV takes 3rd place honors in Cesafi men’s volley

THE University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers weathered a late surge by the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors to escape with a 25-17, 25-13, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12 triumph in their battle-for-third in the Cesafi men’s volleyball tournament Saturday afternoon at the USC Main Gym.

The Green Lancers started like a house on fire that allowed them to take the first two sets.

The Warriors fought back, taking the next two periods to for a decider

USC continued to roll early in the fifth that saw them taking an 8-6 lead.

The Green Lancers regrouped, staging a 9-4 run spearheaded by team captain Jojo Naval, who scored three kills in that crucial stretch that sealed the win.
