The Cebu Provincial Anti-drugs Abuse Office (CPADAO) formally launched its programs that will help drug surrenderers in the province in a ceremony held at the Cebu Provincial Capitol on MOnday.

The projects are specially designed for students, out of school youths and minors especially those who are drug surrenderers.

CPADAO chief Carmen Durano-Mecca said they noted a high number of minors in the province who turned themselves in and admitted that they are involved with drugs.

She said they want to focus their programs to help minors who are already into drugs to move on and have a better life as well as to help avoid more minors from getting involved with drugs.

Based on the data of CPADAO, of the 34,000 drug surrenderers in the province, more than 1,400 of which are minors.

The programs are Program LIFT or Linking Interest of Families and Tea hers; Project IFAD or Integrated Forces Against Drugs; Project YMAD or Youth Making a Difference; and Program SEEK or School-based Education Enhances Knowledge on Drug Abuse.

The Program SEEK, according to Mecca, is a program where they integrate anti-drug projects within the curriculum that will be applied across different high school institutions in the province.
