AFTER two long months of screening and preparation for Mr. and Ms. South Town Centre 2016, sixteen stunning candidates from the different high schools, colleges, and universities in Cebu proudly announced their experiences and motivations in a press conference held at the South Town Centre last Nov. 20.
“My motivation in this pageant is my family and friends who are always there for me,” said Ms. Kiona Stroobants from the Royal Oaks International School. “I want to make my parents proud; not only by giving them good grades, but also by making them proud in every way possible that includes pageantry.”
Mr. Odelio Duja from the Cebu Institute of Technology-University said that he learned to be professional and to be a good role model to other people.
Aside from their strengths, the candidates shared their bittersweet challenges, too. Ms. Rachelle Tingal from the University of San Jose- Recoletos Balamban Campus still managed to attend the practices on time despite the distance. She proved to herself that she really put dedication in continuing her exciting journey in this pageant.
The passionate candidates also raised their advocacies during the press conference. Mr. Nhel Albon from the University of Cebu- METC emphasized his campaign to promote the use of paper bags to be able to help in the ecological protection and conservation.So
The Mr. and Ms. South Town Centre is more than just a beauty pageant; it highlights its environmental advocacy and its edge of having dazzling contestants with excellent academic performances.
A cash prize of P15, 000, a 50% tuition fee scholarship, gift certificates, special awards, and the opportunity to become the mall’s official ambassadors are given to Mr. and Ms. South Town Centre 2016.
The grand finals will be in celebration of South Town Centre’s 2nd year anniversary, and it will be held this November 26, 2PM at the activity area. Expect the best presentations from the contestants and anticipate the presences of highly respected guests and personalities.
