BOCAUE, Bulacan – The Philippine Azkals kissed their semifinal hopes goodbye after they absorbed a 0-1 loss to defending champion Thailand in the AFF Suzuki Cup Friday night at the Philippine Sports Stadium here.

The Azkals wasted several chances of scoring until Sarawut Masuk delivered the winning goal for Thailand in the 81st minute.

In the other game at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Indonesia defeated Singapore, 2-1, to finish behind Thailand in their group and more importantly secured a spot in the semis.
