Two young men alleged to be notorious holduppers were arrested after the police caught them carrying unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs along MC Briones Highway in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, Cebu on Tuesday morning.

Meliton Villaronte, 18 and Ramil Sevilla, 21, both residing at Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, were brought to the Subangdaku Police Station pending the filing of charges.

Villaronte would be charged with illegal possession of firearm and illegal drugs and while Sevilla would face possession of illegal drugs charges, said PO2 Ricky Estrera of the Subangdaku police.

Estrera said the two men were caught after the police responded to a call from a concerned citizen about the presence of two suspicious looking men on MC Briones Highway past 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Policemen found a .38 revolver with two live bullets and three small sachet of suspected shabu from Villaronte and a small sachet of shabu from Sevilla when they were frisked.

Estrera said they later learned from the Mabolo Police Station that the two were notorious holduppers operating in Cebu City.
