Cebuana Gilbuena finishes eighth in Duathlon World Series

CEBUANA duathlete Miscelle Gilbuena emerged as the third best Filipina finisher in the women’s elite division of the Maybank Powerman Duathlon World Series yesterday in Clark, Pampanga.

The Bantayan, Cebu-native Gilbuena finished eighth, reaching the finish line in three hours, 23 minutes and 50 seconds. She came behind teammates Monica Torres (3:02:02) and Mirasol Abad (3:11:34), who wound up third and sixth respectively.

Emma Pooley of England bagged the crown by finishing the race in two hours, 56 minutes and 31 seconds.

In the men’s division, Cebuanos Joland Olmilla and Chobie Duenas ended up 13th and 18th with the former clocking at three hours and four seconds and the latter breasting the tape in three hours, 28 minutes and seven seconds.

Gael Le Bellec of France bagged the men’s title by crossing the finish line in two hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds.
