The regional Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) is reviewing pending transport network vehicles services (TNVS) applications for the issuance of provisional authority (PAs) for the Christmas to Sinulog period.

Regional LTFRB Director Ahmed Cuizon said this would help address the shortage of public utility vehicles (PUVs) in Cebu due to the large influx of passengers expected to attend the celebrations.

“We got a go signal from LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra to review the pending applications. PAs will be good for 45 days (December 15 to January 30),” Cuizon said in a press conference on Monday morning.

In Cebu, there are 700 pending applications for Grab and Uber.

Included with the review are those applications submitted before the suspension of application announced on September 8.

Cuizon said PAs that will be approved are not renewable after 45 days.

Requirements should be complied to approve the Pas.

These include verified publication, articles of incorporation, good standing with a Transport Network Company (TNC), passenger insurance, list of TNVS drivers and vehicles, operator’s data sheet, statement of financial capability, income tax return & location map of garage.

For applicant’s driver proof accreditation of the driver by a TNC, a driver should be a holder of professional driver’s license, driver’s clearance issued by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) & driver’s clearance by Philippine National Police (PNP).

Requirements for applicant’s vehicle are proof of accreditation of the vehicle by a TNC and certificate of registration and official receipt of proposed units with year model issued by Land Transportation Office (LTO) or Delivery Receipt/Sales invoice.
