A security guard of a convenience store was fatally shot by another security guard in Barangay Apas, Cebu City past 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Veronico Vergara, a resident of Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City, suffered gunshot wounds in the chest and neck, said SPO2 Rommel Bancog of the Cebu City Police Office’s Homicide Division.

The suspect identified as John Carlo Espinosa fled after the attack.

Espinosa was supposed to relieve Vergara in the convenience store when the incident happened.

According to witnesses, the two men were arguing before Vergara was shot.

“There is a possibility that they were quarreling over money,” Bancog said.

Police said the incident will be investigated further.
