Passenger vessel bound for Cebu runs aground off Tubigon waters

A vessel from Tubigon, Bohol ran aground off Tambulian Reef in Tubigon waters Friday night.

Vermon Tabangco, a member of operations at Philippine Coast Guard in Tagbilaran Station said that MV FastCat M-11 ran aground at 6:40 p.m, ten minutes after it left Tubigon Port.

“Investigation is still ongoing as to the cause why it ran aground,” he told Cebu Daily News.

PCG Tagbilaran Station is still getting more data on the incident.

A rescue operation was conducted and all passengers were safely brought back to Tubigon Port.

Sixty-nine people, including crew members, were on board. The ship captain was identified as Vicion Cadlina.

The vessel was supposedly expected to arrive at 7 p.m in Cebu City.
