Supporters of the proposed Ludo Coal-fired Power Plant project in Barangay Sawang Calero in Cebu City trooped to city hall to express their support to the project.

The Cebu City Council is set to discuss the project anew in their regular session this afternoon.

Among the city council’s agenda for today is a request of Ludo Power Corp. regarding the land use reclassification of the site where their coal-fired thermal power plant will be constructed.

Councilor Dave Tumulak is proposing a resolution to refer the request to the City Planning and Development Office.

The same proposed resolution also seeks to give authority to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to conduct a public hearing on the matter to be attended by barangay officials and residents of Barangays Sawang Calero, Duljo-Fatima, Pahina San Nicolas, Suba and Pasil, and other relevant stakeholders to hear their views and concerns on the environmental impact of the proposed project.
