Pantino falls short in India netfest

CEBUANO tennis sensation Arthur Craig Pantino put up a gallant stand late in the game but his slow start proved too much to overcome as he lost to Roko Savin of Croatia, 2-6, 4-6, in the second round of the India-International Tennis Federation (ITF)-1 tennis tournament yesterday in Chandigarh, India.

The De La Salle Zobel (DLSZ) ace Pantino couldn’t find his rhythm early before coming alive in the second set that saw him moving within 4-5.

Savin, however, thwarted Pantino’s rally, displaying crisp forehands and sizzling backhands to show the Cebuano player the exit door.

Pantino will try to bounce back from the failed campaign as his Indian tour continues in the nation’s capital to compete in the India-ITF 2 on January 9 to 14 in New Delhi.
