IN AID OF LEGISLATION

THERE are newly elected officials who are unaware about the extent of their authority.

A councilor who called for a press conference mentioned that he wanted the media to call the attention of tourism officials on an issue he was concerned about.

When told he can invite these officials to a public hearing, he was at first surprised and asked his consultant if he could do that.

The consultant assured him he could, so long as it is “in aid of legislation.”

CREAKY BRIDGE

When news surfaced that a bridge would be closed for repairs, some netizens voiced their frustration online.

But a Facebook user mentioned that the bridge was already in disrepair long before the news came out. Despite this, he said the bridge is still being used by trucks.

He asked if people are willing to risk allowing the bridge to remain open even if it can collapse anytime.

FAKE ACCOUNT

A Cebuano model went to social media to complain that a fake account bearing his name had been used to swindle people.

He said the fake account was created by someone who introduced himself as a talent scout and promised to give him projects.

He said he declined the offer and forgot about him until he saw the fake account.

What drew his ire was that the talent scout claimed that they were lovers and even posted Photoshopped pictures of them together.

The model’s friends were outraged and advised him to report the swindler to the police.
