RICE INTAKE
A lot of netizens aren’t too keen on supporting an appeal by the National Nutrition Council to reduce their rice intake to avoid obesity.
Flor Go wrote, “If you are considering about health issues then its, ok but the poor eat a lot of rice. If you reduce their consumption they would get hungrier.”
Daniel Bristos agreed: ”Sakto jud na. Pobre pa gani gihigpitan pajud. bahala nag ma-diabetic basta busog unya dili mag sakit ang tiyan (That’s right. The poor are already starving, and now they limit their consumption. Regardless of the risk of diabetes, so long as one is full and the stomach isn’t suffering from hunger pangs).”
Will Corley suggested, “Throw some monggo beans on that rice and don’t worry about what the experts tell you. They will change their minds next week anyway.”
However, Dale Roach wrote that “all foods should be eaten in moderation and this of course includes rice.”
