Ateneo Blue Eaglets to vie in San Remigio Invitational
CEBU is set to welcome Batang Gilas star Kai Sotto and the rest of the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eaglets as the UAAP powerhouse squad comes over to compete in the San Remigio Properties Invitational Basketball Games on July 20 to 23 at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Sotto, the 6-foot-11 son of former PBA player Ervin Sotto, will be joined by 6-foot-8 Shaun Geoffrey Chiu to form what is a humongous frontline. Another stud that is expected to come over is SJ Belanguel, the nephew of current Ateneo de Cebu head coach Rommel Rasmo.
Ateneo de Manila will do battle with the four-time Cesafi champions Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, who are slowly rounding into form in time for their title defense which begins on August 5. Also competing in the four-day tournament are the college teams of Western Leyte College and Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias.
Teams will play a single round-robin with the top two teams with the best records after the elimination round advancing to the one-game championship.
