PINOY Aquaman Ingemar Macarine conquered the Cebu Strait for the third time last Sunday despite having to deal with jelly fish stings.
Macarine, also known as the Pinoy Aquaman, started his open-water swim in Argao town, south Cebu and finished on Cabilao Island in the municipality of Loon, Bohol.
He finished the 18.15-kilometer swim in eight hours and 25 seconds. It was his 30th successful open-water swim.
Although this was his third try in the Cebu Strait, Macarine said this was one of the most difficult he has done.
The 39-year-old Macarine said he almost abandoned the swim because he got stung by jelly fish too many times.
But the lawyer and environmentalist managed to finish with the help of his navigators, Ambit Dumayag of Argao’s Bantay Dagat and Roel Catoto.
Macarine first conquered the Cebu Strait on June 12, 2016, which was a swim from Cabilao Island, Loon, Bohol to Argao, Cebu. The second time was in April of 2017 when he conquered a 12K swim from Panggangan Island, Calape to Sandingan Island, Loon, Bohol.
