ANGER OVER A SENSELESS DEATH

Netizens are not shy about showing their anger against the man who admitted to shooting a fastfood employee who was only trying to help a girl he was about to rob.

The suspect, Rolando Ybanez, admitted to the crime after he surrendered to police at dawn Thursday for the fatal shooting of Cristanto Amoranto in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City in the evening of July 26.

Sang Marissa Norman wrote,”Maayo unta dili naka makagawas sa prisohan, kaluoy sa inocente nga imo gipatay kay nitabang lang sa babaye, gamay ra rason. Condolence sa pamilya.”

(He should not be released from prison. I pity the victim who was killed in such a senseless matter just because he wanted to help a girl who was being robbed. Condolence to the family.)

Another netizen, Bernardo Asube, said, “Grabe nimo noh abi gitabangan man niya ang babaye nga imong biktima imo jud patyon ug ikaw sad ang patyon sa mga paryente anang imong gipatay malipay ba kaha ang imong pamilya… Aw siguro malipay sila kay nawad-an silag labad sa ulo… Mao na ipikto sa soyop.”

(That was harsh. You did not have to kill him just because he helped your victim. What if your victim’s relatives would kill you too? You think you family would be happy about that? Perhaps, they might, since they would no longer have to deal with a troublesome member of the family.)

Netizen Alvin Espinosa, on the other hand, wrote, “Mao nay hulagway sa taong tapulan, gusto easy money.” (So this is now a person who only wanted easy money looks like.)

The suspect is now detained at the police precinct in Barangay Pari-an, Cebu City pending the filing of charges against him.
