CEBU-based PUBLISHING FIRM

A Cebu-based publishing company is expanding its market reach to Manila in a bid to promote Cebu’s position as a leading producer of coffee table books and textbooks.

Nikki Oguis, business unit manager of SoLine Publishing Company Inc. (SoLine), said the expansion will be marked by their participation in the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) from September 13 to 17 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The MIBF, now on its 38th year, is considered the country’s biggest and longest-running book fair.

Oguis said coffee table books and textbooks published and printed in Cebu are at par with books produced in Manila and other parts of the world.

“We have been in the business for two years and we saw the demand by clients outside of Cebu for our textbooks and coffee table books. After two years of building the market here, we are now expanding to Manila where a bigger market awaits us,” says Oguis, a Cebuano educated at the Ateneo De Manila University.

She finished her degree in BS Management in 2001.

SoLine distributes coffee table books on Cebu’s heritage and culture and Senior High School textbooks in the Visayas and Mindanao namely Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Iloilo and Cebu.
