TEAM Anchor emerged on top in the PAREF Springdale School Annual Sportsfest at the Cebu City Sports Center last Thursday.
Team Anchor defeated Vinta with a score of 98-94.
The points are from different sporting activities played all throughout the school year. Every game won is equivalent to three points while the losing side gets one point. Ties are scored two points.
Team Anchor won, 14-10, in the sprinting events and the shot put event, 19-17.
Jacob Balankig clocked in 14.02 seconds to win intermediate school’s 100-meter sprint. Ethan Jacob Roxas (14.3 secs) also grabbed a win in the 100m sprint. Anton Gratones won the 50m primary school sprint while Andres Jose Sarmiento won the 25m race.
Ryuya Tatara (8.79m), Elmer Canicer (8.76m), Heinz Tan (7.5m), Blake Chan (7m) and Lorenzo Perdices (5.9m) posted wins in shot put for Anchor.
Both teams were tied at 24-all in the long jump competition.
Anchor dominated the swimming competition. Winners were Finn Aldeguer, Francis Austria, Charles Austria, Martin Fontanoza, Shan Mancira, Kim Remolino and Tante Veloso.
Meanwhile, Vinta won the relay competition, 30-18.
