Since they do not have a tomb to visit to remember slain Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Boniel, family members plan to go out on sea on All Souls’ Day to pay their respects to the late mayor.

Gisela’s sibblings Mikay, Jessica and Julius and her nieces and nephews will be offering flowers and prayers off the waters of Punta Engaño in Lapu-Lapu City where her body was reportedly thrown.

“The family of Mayor Gisela Bendong-Boniel will be observing All Souls’ Day differently from other families. They don’t have the tomb to remind them of Gisela,” said an advisory which the family sent to media on Wednesday night.

Instead of going to the cemetery, members of the Bendong family are leasing a pump boat that they will use during the prayer and floral offering early on Thursday.

Mayor Boniel went missing in June. Police later arrested her husband and Bohol Provincial Board Member Rey Niño Boniel who was tagged as mastermind in her killing.

Mayor Boniel’s body have not been found to date.
