A murder suspect reportedly died in a shootout with police just as they were about to serve his arrest warrant at his home in Barangay Apo, Argao, southern Cebu.
SPO4 Steban Albuera of the Argao police identified the suspect as Freddie Carillo, a 32-year-old resident of the area.
Carillo reportedly turned off the lights of his home on seeing the police and he crawled under just as they surrounded his house. He began firing shots just as he made a run for it and the police fired back, hitting him.
Carillo was brought to the Isidro Kintanar Hospital in Argao town but was unable to make it. Recovered from his possession was one loaded pistol. Police have yet to verify if Carillo was one of four people that killed a ronda tanod named Danny Cotillar in Barangay Mompeller, Argao.
