Cebu flights canceled due to bad weather
More flights from Mactan Cebu Airport bound for Mindanao were canceled as Tropical Storm Vinta threatens the Caraga region.
In an advisory issued past 7 p.m. today, five flights from Philippine Airlines (PAL) from Cebu bound to Surigao City, Siargao Island, Ozamiz City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Zamboanga City were canceled.
Below are the corresponding flight numbers:
01) PR 2397-2398 Cebu – Surigao – Cebu
02) PR 2929-2930 Cebu – Camiguin – Cebu
03) PR 2893-2894 Cebu – Ozamiz – Cebu
04) PR 2295-2296 Cebu – Cagayan – Cebu
05) PR 2374-2375 Cebu – Siargao – Cebu
Authorities from PAL advised affected passengers to rebook their flights or ask for full refund.
As of the 8 p.m. severe weather advisory issued by Pagasa today, provinces of Siquijor and Southern Negros Oriental in Visayas are now under Signal No. 2.
The center of Vinta is located 130 kilometers East of Hinatuan town in Surigao del Sur and has gained strength as it is expected to make landfall in Eastern Mindanao late this evening or tomorrow morning.
