A CEBUANA artist has joined the Viva Artists Agency family.
On Monday, Viva Artists Agency officially announced that Cebuana rapper, songwriter and online sensation Karen Ann Cabrera, or more popularly known as Karencitta, is their newest talent.
Viva Artist Agency’s official Instagram account shared a photo during Karencitta’s contract signing together with Viva boss Vic Del Rosario Jr. and Vicente Eduardo “Verb” del Rosario, Vice President for Operations of Viva South.
“Singer/Actress @karencittaofficial signs contract with Viva!
Welcome to the home of the stars, Karencitta,” the post read.
The same day, Karencitta on Twitter (@Karencittax) also surprised her fans in an all capslock tweet and said, “LEADING LADY FOR A NEW VIVA FILM! UNSA IMONG FAVE VIVA MOVIE???
The 22-year-old singer joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines as a child, studied in Cebu until high school before migrating to the United States.
There, she did her funny videos and dabbled in music and film.
Late 2016, she came up with the hit song, “Fckroun,” which introduced her to music lovers.
But it was her catchy English-Cebuano rap, “Cebuana,” which catapulted her to online fame.
The song was launched in 2017 and topped Spotify Philippines on November 27, 2017.
The song’s music video gained one million views less than 24 hours after it was uploaded.
Last Sunday, Karencitta performed “Cebuana” on ABS-CBN’s variety show, “ASAP” together with fellow Cebuana singer, Morisette Amon.
Karencitta also announced that she will be guesting in James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s “Revolution” concert on February 9 at the Araneta Coliseum.
