Three standouts of the SHS-Ateneo de Cebu were named to the Nike All-Philippines Camp 2018, which will be held at the La Salle Greenhills St. Benilde’s Gymnasium on April 10-14 in Mandaluyong, Manila.

The three players selected were two-time Cesafi juniors MVP Jed Colonia, 2017 Mythical Five member Patrick Wilson Yu and versatile big man, Christian Manaytay.

The event is a Nike Philippines-backed special summer basketball grassroots program that involves the best basketball players aged 18-years old and below.

Conducted by top local and international Nike basketball coaches, the Nike All Philippines Camp is the top U18 elite camp that offers advanced training to elite players through Nike’s network of top coaches, international training program standards and involvement of Nike athletes.

The top players of the camp would be sent as representatives of the country to the Nike All Asia Camp in China this June. There, they would be competing against the best basketball talents from all over the Asia Pacific.

One player who was ecstatic to learn of his selection was Yu, the younger brother of one-time Batang Gilas standout and current National University Bulldogs captain, Dave Wilson Yu.

“When I heard that I was selected, I didn’t really know what to feel, because it came as such a surprise. I didn’t expect to be part of such a prestigious camp because there are many good players in the Philippines, so its truly a blessing to be chosen because this is another step closer to my basketball dream,” said Yu.

After playing in the shadow of his older brother, the younger Yu has blazed a path all on his own this past season of the Cesafi, playing well enough to earn a spot on the prestigious Mythical Five.
