BARUG PDP-Laban not threatened by Osmena’s projection
The councilors of BARUG PDP-Laban are confident that the incoming barangay officials will become allies of their political party.
This after Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña earlier said in a press conference that there will be a change in the political landscape for Cebu City after the Barangay and SK elections this May.
The mayor believed that more barangay officials will form alliances with Bando Osmena Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK).
In the regular Kapihan forum on Friday, City Councilor Joel Garganera said they are not challenged by the mayor’s statement.
Meanwhile, Cebu City councilor Pastor Alcover said that the establishment of the Barangay Mayor’s Office (BMO) is the mayor’s political strategy to get the support of the people.
“The fact that he created the BMO, he dreams of getting the support of the local barangays because he has also put up their offices,” Alcover said.
