Batch 2003 vs Batch 2015 in SHAABAA championships
BATCHES 2003 and 2015 will be meeting in the championship game of the 2018 Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Summer League after they hurdled their opponents in the semifinals last Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena.
2015 edged 2000, 53-49, thanks to the clutch shotmaking of Daniel Mayol, who hit back-to-back baskets in crunchtime to push his team to the win and into the finals.
Mayol shot poorly from the field, making 3-of-14 but made it when it mattered the most to finish with 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Anton Araw-Araw led the way with a huge double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
2003, on the other hand, demolished 2007, 73-62, behind the efforts of athletic forward Daryle Tan, who piled up 21 points and eight boards. Ervin Lopena and Justin Huang added 10 points each to help 2003 overcome a feisty challenge from 2007 who were led by Christian Dixon and Job Shan who scored 19 and 18 points, respectively.
