A drive-by shooting claimed the life of a suspected fraternity member at ML Quezon Street, Barangfay Maguikay in Mandaue City at past midnight, Thursday May 10.

Senior Insp. Marvin Fegarido, chief of the Casuntingan police precinct, identified the 39-year-old victim as Glendyln Pulvera, a resident of Ceniza Street in Barangay Looc.

Pulvera was rushed to a nearby Mandaue City hospital but failed to make it. Fegarido said Pulvera rode a motorcycle and didn’t see his assailants tailing him.
He said the family told police that Pulvera was an Alpha Kappa Rho fraternity member and a frequent cockpit bettor.

This was the third drive-by shooting that occurred in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu in the past three days despite a gun ban and checkpoints set up by the police for next week’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
