CHRIS Obeso exploded for 37 points as Brinnovid defeated U Shape Up Gym and Spa, 109-99, to take game 1 of their best-of-three finals series in the City Hoops Basketball League Season 5 last Sunday at the Vista Grande Gym in Bulacao, Talisay City.
Obeso scored 12 points in the final quarter to help Brinnovid break away from a close game in the first three quarters and take a 1-0 lead in the finals series.
Joel Bensig and VM Cempron chipped in 12 points each for Brinnovid.
Mark Panerio led U Shape Up Gym and Spa with 24 points.
Game 2 of their series will be played this coming Sunday at the same venue.
