Some netizens in Cebu called out Senior Supt. Royina Garma, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director, for saying that only criminals are unsafe in Cebu, despite the recent spate of killings in the city, among them Skyler Abatayo, 4.
JVV123 wrote, “According to police officer Garma only criminals are unsafe in Cebu. It seems these government people are following the example of the president. They are blurting out with nonsensical comments. How about the four year old who got hit by stray bullet. Was he a criminal too? or just an unfortunate collateral damage. They seem to talk on one side of their mouth and don’t even consider the implication of what they say.”
Prison Planet said, “Police Chief says Cebu is only unsafe for criminals. So that 4 yo, probably shot by a cop, was he a criminal too? Agree traffic is the worst problem. Traffic steals more from people than any criminal. Wasted hours, gas, and anger.”
Last Tuesday alone, five deaths were recorded in Cebu City.
