Several notable Cebuanos and Cebu products were released by teams into the free agent list at the midway point of the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup.

The hometown Cebu Sharks placed injured guard John Lloyd Luz into the list along with ex-pros Erick Rodriguez and Jondan Salvador, who were released by the team earlier because of disciplinary issues.

Other players who were placed on the free agent list include former University of the Visayas big man Edrian Lao and University of Cebu guard AJ Asis of the Davao Occidental Tigers, Bernie Bregondo of Bataan, Mannie Gabas of Manila and Chriz Dumapig of Basilan.

The other teams can actually pick up any of the aforementioned players in the dispersal draft where the Sharks, sitting at the bottom of the south division, gets to pick second.

First to pick is Pasig, followed by Cebu, Caloocan and Rizal.

The Sharks currently have a 2-8 record.
