BATCHES 1990, 1994, 1997 and 2009 advanced to the semifinals of the 2018 Damazo Cup after they hurdled their opponents in the quarterfinals held at the University of San Jose-Recoletos gym .
1990 leaned on the offensive explosion of former Cebu Gems forward Leode Garcia, who scored 34 to carry his batch to a 101-82 win over Batch 1995. Vince Castro added 21 markers to help 1990 author the lopsided win.
In another quarterfinal game, 2009 ousted 2003, 87-81, behind a two-pronged attack led by Jake Diamante and Allan del Rosario who scored 28 points each.
1994 also emerged triumphant over 2004, 66-64, as Glen Rosello and Louie Abellanosa waxed hot from the field, scoring 21 and 19 points, respectively.
And finally, 1997 won over 2001, 82-67, to advance to the semifinal round. Henjie Cabo tallied 26 points while Jerry Dacalos punched in 23 in the rousing victory.
2009 will be taking on 1990 while 1994 and 1997 clash in the one-game semifinals for the chance to advance to the semis.
