FIRE struck the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino Internation Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 early Friday, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has confirmed.
Connie Bungag, head of the MIAA Public Affairs, said the fire started at past 1 a.m. after an exhaust fan of one of the restaurants on the ground floor of the terminal short-circuited.
Bungag said the fire was immediately put out by a fire extinguisher but firefighters still responded to the scene.
She disclosed that the terminal management is looking into the possibility that an electrical problem also caused the fire as the restaurant was found to be recalibrating their broiler system.
