TACLOBAN CITY – The historic bells of Balangiga town in Eastern Samar will finally be returned to the country on December 11.

This was announced by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana in a speech during the joint meetings of the Regional Peace and Order Council, Regional Development Council, and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Ormoc City on Monday.

A “very simple” welcome ceremony would be held at the Villamore Airbase in Pasay City, he added.

“Yung bells of Balangiga are coming back home on December 11 in the morning in a very simple ceremony in Villamor Air Base,”

Lorenzana said to the applause of the council members.
