Ashley Abad’s boyfriend ready to face charges, says lawyer
Cebu City, Philippines – The camp of Neil Spencer Tiu, the boyfriend of 19-year-old Ashley Abad who died of ecstasy overdose after attending a pre-Sinulog concert last January, is ready to face the charges that will be lodged against him.
In a phone interview with Cebu Daily News Digital, lawyer Orlando Salatandre, Tiu’s legal counsel, said his client has no plans to flee the country, contrary to unverified reports circulating on social media that he left following the death of Abad.
“Of course, he was shocked. And emotional. You just lost someone you loved. Can you imagine the pain and loss you will feel?” said Salatandre.
However, he did not mention Tiu’s present whereabouts.
Salatandre also said Tiu’s camp will air its side once the cases will be filed.
“We’re now actually waiting for complaints. We welcome these complaints, and then we will answer them in the proper forum,” he said.
“Actually, dugay na unta nila i-file kung ganahan sila mu file. This will be our opportunity to answer categorically the cases filed against our client,” he added.
Police confirmed that Abad died due to ecstasy overdose after attending a pre-Sinulog concert last January 19, 2019 here.
