VBP basketball: Victoria, Tooheys win openers

Cebu City, Philippines — Teams Victoria and Tooheys  pulled off wins in the season opener of the first-ever VBP (Virtual Business Partners, Inc.) Basketball League at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club in Cebu City last Friday, March 29,2019.

In the first game, Team Victoria dominated the 4Xers, 85-64.

Jackson Duyo and Junree Sotto spearheaded the winning team with 24 points apiece. 

Nikko Abenoja, meanwhile, led the pack as Team Tooheys defeated the Coopers, 68-53.

Abenoja took charge with a season-high 26 points.

The next set of games will be on April 12 with Tooheys  facing off against 4Xers in the first game and Victoria Bitters taking on Coopers  after.

According to their official website, VBP is an Australian outsourcing company based in Cebu that provides back office solutions to financial firms in Australia.

FIRST GAME: 

VICTORIA (85) – Duyo 24, Sotto 24, Savellon 22, Oyanguren 6, Gallur 4, Seno 3, Taneo 2, Cababat 0, Armecin 0.

4Xers (64) – Milloren 18, Rivera 18, Poro 9, Caballes 5, Moldez 4, Calumboy 4, Camaso 4.

Quarters: 14-17, 36-40, 44-56, 64-85.

SECOND GAME:

TOOHEYS (68) – Abenoja 26, Castillo 15, Sumalo 12, Espra 5, Bactol 5, Chiu 3, Cabanes 2.

COOPERS (53) – Ursal 12, Pingcas 10, Almagro 10, Garces 7, Smith 6, Cuesta Jr. 4, Suarez 2, McNevin 2.
