Cops raid ‘noisy house’ in Consolacion, seize 2 packs of marijuana leaves, nab 7 men
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Complaints about the noise from visitors coming from a house of a resident in Barangay Cansaga in Consolacion town in northern Cebu led to the police raid on Saturday, April 6, which yielded two plastic packs of suspected dried marijuana leaves and the arrest of seven persons.
Police Major Gerard Ace Pelare, Consolacion Police Station chief, said that they started monitoring the house owned by Eugene Marie Najaro, 24, after they received several complaints about the noise of daily gatherings in Najaro’s house.
Pelare said that they later learned about Najaro’s alleged illegal drug activities and conducted the operation against him.
On Saturday’s operation, Pelare said they arrested Najaro after a test buy was done by an undercover police officer.
Pelare said that aside from Najaro, they also arrested six others in the house during the raid at past 11 p.m. on Saturday.
The others arrested were Raffy Ullamot , 26, Jay-r Degamo, 32, Jester Velasquez, 26, Dante Camocamo, 19, Adrian Jules Inso, 20, and Ronel Genares.
Pelare said that Ullamot, Degamo and Velasquez are Najaro’s neighbors while Camocamo and Inso are from Barangay Tayud while Genares is from Barangay Lamac.
Pelare said that the 350 grams of dried marijuana leaves confiscated from Najara had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P3,500.
The suspects were detained at the Consolacion Police Station detention cell pending the filing of charges./dbs
