Siete Palabras 2019 to focus on youth empowerment – Palma
CEBU CITY, Philippines – This year’s Seven Last Words will put emphasis on the need to help empower the youth especially in accomplishing their goals, said Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.
The annual event that will be held at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral on Good Friday will carry the theme: “Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted, Empowered.”
It will feature speakers that will include Rev. Fr. Andrei Ventanilla, Secretary of the Archbishop of Cebu and Vice Chairperson of the Commission on Youth; Rev. Fr. Joriz Foz Calsa, head of the Ministry of the Salesians of the Commission Youth; and Atty. Maria Luiza M. Jorda, former Cebu City Prosecutor.
The Seven Last Words, locally know as “Siete Palabras,” will be held ahead of the formal opening of the National Youth Day celebration that Cebu will be hosting from April 23 to 28.
In an interview on Sunday, Palma said that speakers in this year’s Seven Last Words will try to relate with the youth, help them become empowered and to never surrender to challenges that will come there way. /dcb
