A female detainee of Consolacion Police Station escaped Monday afternoon after asking permission to allow her to get out of the cell and feed her three-month-old baby.
Dionisia Lumantao, 28, who is facing illegal drug charges, reportedly asked PO1 Julios Patac, the officer on duty, that she be allowed to breast-feed her baby.
Patac relented as the woman was polite in seeking his permission, but Lumantao repaid the policeman’s compassion with an opportunity to escape.
PO2 Ritchie Gako, investigator of the Consolacion Police Station, said Patac was busy attending to other concerns and failed to notice that the detainee had sneaked out.
The compassionate policeman is now under investigation because of the incident.
