CEBU CITY, Philippines – “It is an accomplishment.”
This was the reaction of Sven Chua, the manager of Cebuana beauty queen Tracy Maureen Perez after the coronation night of Miss World Philippines 2019 held on September 15, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Perez placed Top 12 during the competition, making the only Cebuana to enter the list.
“As her manager, I believe that a Top 12 finish is quite the accomplishment for Tracy on her first time competing on the national stage. She gave the world a performance that every Cebuano would be proud of,” Chua told CDN Digital.
Perez has worked with beauty camp Aces and Queens in Manila and her team in Origin Model and Artist Management in Cebu for her Miss World Philippines 2019 stint.
“Thank you, most of all, to Binibining Cebu who showed her their overwhelming support,” Chua added.
Before joining the Miss World Philippines 2019, Perez vied for Binibining Cebu 2018 and bagged the Binibining Cebu Charity 2018 title. She also finished second runner-up in Miss Cebu 2016.
Winning the Miss World Philippines 2019 title is Michelle Marquez Dee who will represent the Philippines in Miss World 2019 in London this December.
Completing the court are Kelly Day (Miss Eco Philippines 2019), Katrina S. Llegado (Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2019), Isabelle Daza De Leon ( Miss Multinational Philippines 2019), Glyssa Perez (Miss Philippines Tourism 2019), Vanessa Mae Walters (Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2019), Shannon Christie Kerver (first princess), and Kristi Banks (second princess).
Meanwhile, Mandaue City’s Ilene de Vera made it to Top 22 of the competition.
Miss World Philippines 2019 is De Vera’s third national pageant after Binibining Pilipinas 2019 and Mutya Pilipinas 2017. The 23-year-old Mandaue City native also wore the sash for the Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific International 2017 and placed fourth runner-up. /elb
