Joey (not his real name) had long been harboring suspicions that his wife was having an affair with another man in Lapu-Lapu City.
Yesterday, Joey’s suspicions were proven when he himself discovered the illicit affair.
In a fit of anger, Joey repeatedly stabbed his wife whom he caught in the house of her alleged paramour.

A suspicious Joey followed his wife when the woman left home yesterday morning.
It turned out the woman went to her paramour’s house.
The woman and the man were in a room when Joey barged in.
Joey tried to attack the man, who was able to escape by jumping out of a window.
Joey ran after the man but was unable to catch him.
He then went back to the house where he repeatedly stabbed his wife.
Joey fled after the incident.
Police brought the woman to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital. She was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City because of the severity of her wounds.
The couple’s children are in the care of Joey’s brother, police said.
