Smart Communications launched a more improved user interface for their SmartBro prepaid customers, who account for 90 percent of the company’s total broadband business.

According to Richard Matthew Dimagiba, SmartBro Prepaid senior manager, the new interface called SmartBro Dashboard answers four main concerns of their customers.

“The SmartBro Dashboard allows you to know your SmartBro number, your load balance, easily choose promos and protect your load through the ‘Load Protect’ switch,” Dimagiba said.

SmartBro prepaid subscribers will automatically be taken to the Dashboard when using a SmartBro SIM on any device from a plug-it, SIM or pocket wifi.

According to SmartBro prepaid usage manager Melo del Gallego, their SmartBro Prepaid business also rakes in 90 percent of their revenues from the broadband business.

He said they expect the trend to continue especially with the pocket wifi now a preferred device for many Filipinos who wants to share the internet access to multiple users.

“We still have the desktops and the laptops that use the plug-its and the tablets that use our SIM cards,” he said.

Dimagiba said that the Philippines is still so much a retail market.  That is why they have developed the Dashboard first for their prepaid customers.

By end of July, they also expect to launch the postpaid version of the Dashboard.

“We are now also in the process of developing an Application for both Android and IOS devices. We are doing this since convenience to our customers is a vital key for competitiveness,” Dimagiba said.
