Chan: No more number coding scheme for vehicles, Qpass rule in Lapu-Lapu

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan has already lifted the implementation of the number coding scheme for vehicles and quarantine pass in the city.
This was announced by Chan on his Facebook page today, March 5, 2021.
Chan said that despite the pandemic brought by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), people would need to live a normal life again and that sometimes, we could not avoid going out of our houses for some important matters.
“Tungod niana, atong nadesisyonan nga subli na natong gilibkas ang number coding sa mga sakyanan ug ang quarantine pass sugod karon 11:59 sa gabie. Magpagawas kita og executive order karong adlawa mahitungod niini,” Chan’s post read.
(Because of that, we decided to again lift the implementation of the number coding scheme for vehicles and the quarantine pass starting 11:59 tonight. We will issue an executive order today about this issue.)

Violators apprehended
Chan also said that recently most of those who tested positive for COVID-19 were those who violated the minimum health standards, especially in the wearing of a face mask.
He said that on March 4 or Thursday, the authorities apprehended 332 individuals, who did not wear or did not properly wear their face masks in 17 barangays in the city.
The violators were from Barangays Gun-ob – 25; Looc -17; Basak – 33; Buaya – 8; Canjulao – 6; Poblacion – 29; Mactan – 21; Maribago – 19; Pajac – 42; Punta Engaño – 27; Babag – 19; Calawisan – 22; Bankal – 20; Suba Basbas – 8; Pusok – 12; Agus – 9 and Marigondon – 15.
Due to this, the city will now strictly implement the compliance of the public to the minimum health standards, such as the wearing of a face mask, face shield, and the observance of social distancing, especially in public places.
“Mao kana ang rason nga mas gipahugtan pa gyud nato ang pagpatuman niini kung diin ang masakpan nga walay face mask ug face shield magsagubang og silot nga pagbayad og multa nga P1,000 o pagabuhaton og community service sama sa pagpunit ug basura sa publikong mga lugar,” he added.
(That is the reason that we have tightened the enforcement of this policy where those who will be caught without a face mask and face shield will be fined P1,000 or they will do community service like cleaning public places of garbage.)
Aside from this, the city will also distribute face masks and face shields to violators.
City hall workers tapped
He said that to sustain the effort, he would pull out some city hall employees from each department, and they would be assigned in apprehending those who would not wear or would not properly wear a face mask.
Chan also assured the public that no one would be exempted from this effort.
“Dili ra ni limitado sa pobre. Ang atong kamanduan, mag-una ra sa city hall. Wala ta’y giila,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chan also plans to ease travel restrictions in the city by removing all the requirements needed to enter the city.
