A resolution that authorizes Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama to bid out South Road Properties (SRP) lots was approved by a majority of the Cebu City Council this afternoon.

While two councilor proponents of the resolution withdrew as proponents, nine councilors voted for the approval of the resolution. Rama can now sell the three parcels of land in SRP with a  floor price of P20,000 per square meter through a public bidding.

Among the councilors who voted for its passage were the Team Rama camp of Councilors Dave Tumulak, Mary Ann De los Santos, James Cuenco, Hanz Abella and Philip Zafra.
Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) allies Noel Wenceslao, Gerry Carillo, Richard Osmena and Roberto Cabarrubias also voted for its approval.

However other BO-PK allies Eugenio Gabuya, Alvin Dizon, Leah Japson, Nida Cabrera, Sisinio Andales, Nestor Archival and Alvin Arcilla voted against the passage.

Majority Floor leader Margot Osmeña was on leave and is in the US. The voting ended close to an hour discussion.  After a short recess,  Councilors Eugenio Gabuya and Philip Zafra withdrew as proponents of the resolution.
