Consolacion enforcer suspended for 15 days
‘She has to face the consequences,’ says Consolacion mayor Joannes "Joyjoy" Pepito Alegado
MANDAUE CITY, Philippines—Consolacion Mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” Pepito Alegado has suspended for 15 days the controversial female traffic enforcer seen in a viral video hitting a food delivery driver last Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
The mayor said that the suspension of Consolacion Traffic Enforcement and Special Service enforecer Maricris Modena Vallejos takes effect on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She won’t receive salary while under suspension.
Vallejos, 40, was involved in a confrontation with Marcelino Merca Sabucido, 23, a food delivery driver in barangay Lamac. Their confrontation was caught in a now viral video.

Alegado said that after investigation and consultation, it was found out that that the traffic enforcer was also at fault.
Alegado said aside from the suspension, Vallejos was also asked to pay a penalty for not wearing a face mask. The penalty is worth P1,000.
“Makaluluoy sad kaayo but we have to do something kay aron to serve justice and fairness sa tanan. Luoy kaayo but she has to face the consequences,” said Alegado.
“Pasalamat lang sad ta nga nacaught up pod iyang attention aron magmatngon pod ta sa atong lihok, sa atoang behaviour and we can improve more sa atong services,” Alegado added.
He said that the traffic enforcer will also be made to undergo a refresher course and training.
The mayor, meanwhile, asks the public not to judge immediately and always follow the traffic laws and regulations.
Sabucido, who is from Upper Tabok in Mandaue City, is detained at the Consolacion Municipal Police Station for disobedience of a person in authority.

Sabucido allegedly did not stop when the enforcer ordered a full stop for all vehicles to allow pedestrians to cross.
