Buzz Lightyear is set to return to the big screen in June 2022.
Disney and Pixar released the first trailer of the movie Lightyear on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021.
Lightyear is a sci-fi action-adventure and the origin story of Buzz Lightyear in the film Toy Story. It is the story of how a young test pilot became a Space Ranger.
On Twitter, Evans, who also portrayed Captain America, posted a statement that voicing the new Buzz Lightyear is a “dream come true”, saying he can’t believe to be part of the Pixar family and worked with “truly brilliant artists”.
“Animated movie were an enormous part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. My dreams,” Evans tweeted.
Evans also clarified about a Twitter post he posted last year, “And just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on.”
Lightyear was first announced in 2020. It is directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman. /rcg
