Reporters reached out to Asturias Mayor Antonio Pintor on Wednesday, November 3, for his comments.

In a text message, Pintor said, their local government is currently addressing the issue with the help of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Based on previous advisories posted on their official social media handles, the municipal government of Asturias passed the Asturias Dog Care and Anti-Rabies Ordinance last September 2.

As a result, dog owners were told to have their dogs registered to the town’s agriculture and veterinary office so they can avail anti-rabies shots for their pets.

Otherwise, stray dogs will be caught and impounded.
