CHURCH and government officials in Cebu are expected to attend the Cebu launching of the Ugnayan ng Barangay at Simbahan (Cooperation between villages and church) good governance program at the Capitol social hall at 9 a.m. today.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma and Chief Supt. Prudencio Tom Bañas, Police Regional Office (PRO-7) chief, will attend the event along with Camarines Sur 3rd Dist. Rep. Leni Robredo.

Robredo’s husband, the late Interior and Local Governments secretary Jesse Robredo, initiated the program after inviting some bishops to partner with barangays in 2011.

“Cebu is very active and responsive. This is why the Province was chosen the venue for the launching,” Provincial Information Officer Ethel Natera said.
