LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan urged unvaccinated Oponganons to participate in the upcoming Vaccination Day Holiday on November 29 to December 1.

This after the government plans to inoculate 1.5 million Filipinos on those dates.

Chan, however, said that to encourage unvaccinated Oponganons to have themselves vaccinated, those who would participate in the vaccination drive on those dates could participate in the raffle draw.

“Ang ilang madaog, duna silay madaog nga motorcycle, dunay mountain bikes, dunay TV, ug duna poy overnight stays sa atong mga resorts,” Chan said.

(They can win a motorcycle, there are also mountain bikes, there is TV set, and there are also overnight stays in our resorts.)

He said that all these prizes were donated by their sponsors.

Aside from this, Chan also said that he also planned to hold a raffle draw that could be participated to all vaccinated individuals in the city.

Chan also thanked Oponganons who participated in the city’s vaccination drive.

This is after the city has already inoculated more than 70 percent of the eligible population for the first and second dose of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.

“Kita ang number one karon, ang pinakadaghan nga nabakuna for the entire Cebu, so mao nang magpasalamat ta sa mga Oponganon sa kooperasyon nga ilang gihatag,” he added.
