Kids aged 5 to 11 to be vaccinated in February
Children aged five to 11 years old can get vaccinated against COVID-19 in the first week of February, according to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.
He said a “mini rollout” would be conducted from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7.
The government has secured 15 million doses of Pfizer, which are of lower dosage and concentration than those given to adults.
The first batch of Pfizer vaccines for this age group will start arriving in the last week of January.
The government aims to inoculate 14.7 million children aged 5 to 11.
The primary vaccination of minors aged 12 to 17, estimated at 12.7 million, is expected to be finished within the first quarter.
