Woman injured in robbery, salesman loses collection to bike-riding men
A 49-year-old woman was injured after she refused to give her money to an unidentified robber at past 4 p.m. Sunday in barangay Babayongan, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Maria Ines Tangpo sustained a gunshot wound in her left thigh and the robber successfully took the P7,000 cash that she just collected from farmers who are renting her lot in barangay Babayongan.
Tangpo was with her nephew and niece when she was robbed. She resisted and tried to run but the robber shot her thigh. When she fell, the robber took the P7,000 cash she was holding.
SPO3 Cleto Pia of Dalaguete police said they have identified the robber but refused to name him.
He is allegedly Tangpo’s relative who is a marijuana user.
Pia added the robber knows that every three months, Tangpo collects rent from the farmers tilling her land.
Tangpo was brought to Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital while her nephew and niece are safe.
In Liloan town, a 28-year-old cigarette salesman claimed he was robbed by two armed men on a motorcycle and took his P21,000 collection Sunday afternoon.
Danilo Pepito, Mighty cigarette salesman, reported at the Liloan police that he just collected payment from a store in barangay Catarman when two men on board a motorcycle without a plate number robbed him.
The pillion rider alighted from the motorcycle, poked a gun at him and took his money.
They immediately left going to the north.
