‘Bomb threat’ reported in Qimonda bldg. in Cebu City

CEBU CITY, Philippines—Police here confirmed that they received reports of an alleged bomb threat on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Mabolo Police Station (Police Station 4) confirmed to CDN Digital that personnel from Qimonda building at the North Reclamation Area reportedly receive a bomb threat.

The building houses the Cebu City Hall of Justice.

Police Staff Sergeant Marlon Alforte said they received the report at 1:44 p.m. 

As a result, all personnel inside Quimonda Building, including those working for trial courts, were instructed to vacate the property temporarily as a precaution.

Authorities from Cebu City’s K9 unit and the Regional Explosive Canine Unit in Central Visayas (RECU-7) have arrived in the scene to assess the situation. 

Alforque said investigators are currently checking into the veracity of the bomb threat.
